Welcome to the website on ecologically or biologically significant marine areas (EBSAs), 

hosted by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity

The EBSA website is divided into two sections:

1. EBSA Repository: Contains EBSA descriptions that have been formally considered by the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the CBD
    
2. EBSA Information-sharing Mechanism (ISM): Contains descriptions of areas meeting the EBSA criteria not submitted for consideration by the CBD COP, along with information on in-progress submissions, workshop and meeting reports, training materials, and additional relevant resources
